Fished from 5:45 am to 1:00 pm before we even got a bite. We had a good friend, and co-worker, "BIG A" to try for his first hybrid today. I have never been so frustrated as I was today. I was sitting on huge schools of hybrids all day, and couldn't get a sniff.


There were grumblings of Mutiny, walking the plank, and being "keel-hulled". Since I was out numbered, and I quickly figured I was outweighed by about 660lbs to 180, I figured I BEST find some feeding fish! I moved around the lake trying to find feeding fish, and kept coming back to the "school" to no avail. I wanted Al to catch a hybrid badly. We have been trying to get together to fish for 5 years! FINALLY, we hook up, and Big Al lands his fish, and another rod goes off and Jeff got it in.


With "mission accomplished" by Al getting a hybrid, we were getting ready to pack it in. A rod went down, and I got it. As we were bringing them in, I got another hit as I was pulling a bait in. Tough day, but everybody got one.

I think hybrids are probably my favorite fish as of a couple weeks ago. A friend and I lucked onto a massive school of them while bass fishing on the Ohio river. We were disappointed when the first couple fish in the boat weren't Spots but quickly changed our minds when it turned into nearly every cast for an hour or so.

Glad BIG AL landed that fish finally. After 5 years of waiting, that was one well deserved fish!!!

Thankfully the weather was nice not only for fishing, but for the "ride" home as well since it was a long one. Glad to see you all kept it in the "slow lane"... :p

I'll have you know that was one rough, stressful, vacation. Had to fish as soon as I got back to unwind from it!!!!!
