The 2015 FTA Convention will be held at the LaGrange County Fairgrounds from June 25-27. LaGrange is located 8 miles from Michigan and 32 miles from Ohio. It is 8 miles from I-80/90 and 22 miles from I-69 and US 31. It is only a day’s drive from the east coast and states like Arkansas and Mississippi.

LaGrange is a town of 2,000 in a rural farm community. Lodging is primarily in Shipshewana and the state line, and the surrounding area.

Fur Takers is a family-oriented organization, so bring the entire family. There will be activities for the kids. Shipshewana has a good cross section of shops and shopping opportunities for the ladies.

Shipshewana has a large flea market on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, including up to 1,200 dealers. There is also an auction of collectible antiques on Wednesday morning. There will also be a quilt show on Thursday, the week of the convention, which will bring thousands of people from across the US.

This area is home for a large Amish community, so please watch for the horse-drawn carts.

There is camping on the grounds, and plenty of room for tailgaters. The days will be full with dealers and demos. There will be trap setting contests and the skillet throw.
There will be plenty of good food available, with the good Amish cooking. -- Charlie Park
