Yesterdays Striper bait, becomes today's coon bait…OR sammich spread for Weedy!!! :p Three big gizzards yielded about two cups of ground paste. I'm going to freeze it in those plastic cups as is. One cup should be enough for about 4 pocket sets for coon/mink, or 1/2 dozen DP sets. I cut the heads off, and save those separately to throw in the pockets. Most certainly have to gut those stinky things and get rid of those before grinding. They are the nastiest things you'll ever stick a knife into. The guts would taint and rot the rest of it if left in. I'll experiment with different "flavors" and scents to mix in, as well as leave it straight. I have never used Sodium Benzoate as a preservative. Might keep some of that and glycerine on hand for anti-freeze, and only mix as needed.
