I saw that article a few days ago and if true I was pretty impressed.

That's amazing!!! If I calculated correctly, that's 466/yr...which is over 3 critters per day....if he traps every day of the trapping season for 15 years. Which he doesn't because he only traps part time. I sure could learn something from him.

I would think a call to Hoosier Trapper or another significant trapping/fur store in central Indiana could likely shed some light on this particular guy and the event.

Originally posted by nickgsp2: I emailed him and he got back with me pretty quick and then I had a follow up email and again he got back quick so may be legit. Last name Nick ???? He lives 4 miles from me. About the same from the farm. Dad and I have asked everybody we know……nobody knows him. Dad even "works" at the local gunshop/hangout. I would think that somebody THAT good, someone would know of him. Nobody…. I'll refrain from my own personal comments until I have more info.. I will say this: He said 7000+ furs. Keep in mind he didn't say 7000+ canines. On the 3 minute dirt hole……its easy enough. You can pre-make, and bait your coyote sets weeks ahead of actually putting a trap in. If you have a bed dug, hole made and baited, and dirt already sifted back in, it doesn't take but a couple of minutes to lay a trap in and cover it up. Easy to scout that way and see which ones they are hitting and not be blind setting. That's not a mystery. I'll keep snooping around. I highly doubt I attend his "siminar" !
