Its a red fox, denning in the barn again this year. They have raised a lot of litters under the old floor over the years.

I don't mess around when it comes to protecting my "babies"!!! laugh Takes too much work to get them here and going good, only to have something happen to them now!

I was doing the nightly feeding and seen her a 1/2 mile off. I KNEW what she was up to, and I RAN almost all the way there to cut her off. I got into position, and she was there in seconds, scent checking the cattle that were 40 yards from me. She turned, came through a hole in the fence that I normally have a snare in. She turned and headed right at the calves and was 40 yards away from me when I squeezed the trigger. Oh yea, I change out my "fur saving loads" for the "kill 'em good loads" this time of year! laugh

You definitely hit her hard! Kind of looks like the one I shot with a .358 BFG @ 25 yards!

Them reds are happy you are keeping the yotes thinned out and off their butt. lol h.h.

Can you believe she got up, and ran 35 yards right down my gun barrel?? She nose dived 10' from the end of my barrel, just as I was going to touch another one off! Tough critters!

I am going to get my camera set up in the barn, and start documenting the foxes coming and going this weekend.
