Reading through the link it said 140 z's. had over 240 in 6 checks, with a 36 hour check law. Trapping big timber along a river. That's an incredible amount of work.

If z's are $15 per trap, at 140 that's about $2,100 without tax. So, he certainly covered cost even if he bought the entire trap line and then will supplies and gas, it's still a pretty decent per hour return.
