Haha now that I have everyone's attention, does anyone know the weight of the biggest beaver ever trapped in Indiana? Weighed one in this weekend and 76 lbs.. Biggest one I've ever seen had one at 72 2 years ago this one is 3 inches longer and 2 wider. Will post pics soon.

I had one I had caught in the White River in Muncie that was in the low 70's. That was in 1984(ish). 76lbs. Thats a BIGGUN!!!! Almost too much work! laugh

Yeah the other one I caught was 19 lbs and looks like a muskrat next to that beast

Next time I'm down there ill take a picture of the slide I've caught all 5 of them on this year looks like a beaver equivilant of a water slide.

The smaller one was 19lbs looks like a muskrat next to the other one look at the big ol notch outta his tail

I haven't figured out which I hate skinning/scraping worse....beavers or coyotes!!!! BTW- Trap or snare if you don't mind me asking?

Leg traps in water right at slide entrance all have been back foot catches except one. Snared one so far.

When i skinned for a local fur buyer there was a guy that brought a 82 pounder in. It was a beast.

I grew up working/skinning for a fur buyer up here(Art Bair)....largest I can remember was a 64lber that came from a drainage ditch going into the Kankakee river, there may have been some bigger.......I caught one a few years back that went 52lbs....I'll be setting traps and snares shortly for 'em...waiting for a new pair of gauntlets to come in before I start...
