Good luck to all you tree rat catchers and be safe. h.h.

took the .22 out a few weeks back to check various HP loads...Federal, Winchesters, Browning Small game, and CCI Mini Mags... as usual, the CCI's were the most consistent with the tightest groups... I generally sight it in dead on at 35 yds, at that range the CCI's are grouping about the size of my little finger nail.... its ready ...

Good on ya Bean. Old school is fun! Ive killed them with a BP shotgun but never hunted them with a BP rifle. Is it a flinter or cap gun? Can Luke hit anything with it? cool h.h.

Cap gun. Yes, Luke can shoot it but prefers his .22. I guess the older I get the more "old school" I get. Wanna go back to muzzleloader this year for deer as well. I have my trusty Encore but want to get a cap .50 caliber.

The wide 8 I shot two years ago was with a T/C Hawken .54 that I bought from a member on here. Reblued and refinished her and she shoots very good using RB and BP. I have another T/C Hawken in .45 and killed two deer using RB. I learned how to load them and carry them for several days and still fire on clean barrel. Save a lot of cleaning time each day. h.h.

That's the hard part is cleaning those things. I used to have one years ago and wished I had never sold it. I was thinking about getting a kit and hunting with it. That will come after my longbow on order right now.
