Hovey is nothing like it use to be when I hunted there. It's deeper now due to the new dam and the HQ got flooded out and torn down. They put up a Temporary trailer a few years back and that may have been moved again. The guy that use to run the place was transferred to another Fish & Wildlife Area. Not sure if they replaced him or not. Talk is that there is a place on higher ground that the IDNR was looking at but nothing ha been built there yet. Hovey use to be a hot place to hunt when I was in college about 40 years ago.
