Been seeing a large variety of birds heading back north. Bluebills, redheads ,canvasback, teal, woodies, mallards and mergansers I've seen lately.

Yep, the cranes have been going over a lot lately.

I saw some sandhill cranes in southern IN and huge flocks of snow geese in Central IL, a truly incredible sight when the whole flock takes flight!!!

Saw spoonbills and hooded mergansers today. It's great to see ducks in the spring when they are in full plumage. Seen 2 geese on the nest already.

I saw two pairs of buffleheads at my grandma's on Sunday. I had planned to replace the wood shavings in my wood duck box, but when I opened it up there was already a few eggs in it, so I left it alone.

Celery Bog here in West Lafayette has been covered in a variety pack of birds. I need to walk down and inventory. I know i have seen shovelers, bufflehead, and blue bills as well as mallards. Early there were swans on as well as some white birds that look like herons.

I have a pond about 1.5 acres behind my house in our housing edition and I've seen a drake bufflehead, pair of blue wing teal, and a pair of redheads so far this spring along with Canadians and mallards.

I went through Muscatatuk on Tuesday and it was loaded with teal. Do they nest there or are they on their way through?
