I did not hear a single gobble this morning, I had a hen first then two jakes sneak in on me about 9AM. They circled the blind and came right into the DSD jake and hen decoys. I shot this guy at 8 yards when he rounded the corner of the blind. He ran right into the creek after the shot and ended up looking like a drown rat. Not going to win any awards but still a nice bird and my first with a crossbow.

Nice going! Going to try a crossbow tomorrow if we hunt a blind.

Nice job Justin!
Public land bird??
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're flying with a bunch of turkeys.

Private land. Worked several birds on public, but just could not connect. This farm is archery hunting ONLY per the landowner's request. My 3 year old son, pictured, spent 4 hours on Fri night in the blind with me. No birds in range, but we had a great time! He slept in on Sat morning when this bird worked into range. I plan to go out next weekend and try to help a friend get his first bird. Had 2 great encounters on public ground with him so far, just not quite able to put a tag on one Originally posted by animalhouse: Nice job Justin!

thanks. Yes, this is my second one and I love it. Matrix 355. A 150 gr slick trick rocked him. He went nowhere and a nice blood trail the whole way Originally posted by Gilley: Nice one 76. I've got an Excalibur too. Love it
