I am very disappointed and shocked they would put something like this on the market.

I've been using a home made version of this for a few years-a jake fan on a hard body hen decoy.I wouldn't use it for stalking, but it works great if you are careful with your set up.I've had zero problems and it is incredible how the tom's react.

I am surprised anyone thinks this is fine or even a safe way to hunt.

I was taught to cover decoys on the walk in and never stalk turkeys, let alone with a strutter decoy on your head. =)

Be safe out there guys, I don't want to be reading about you in the safety forum this spring...

I"ve made my own up for this year.. I hunt a spot that NO one is allowed to hunt except myself.

Now at public land, NO WAY... LOL.

I have a small camcorder with wide angle lens mounted on the tripod. I or my buddy will stay back and video from afar

"NO one is allowed", doesn't mean you won't have someone else there. Good luck with it and I sure hope all goes well.

Hmmm. It now appears that I do need to take my mother-in-law hunting. Never thought the day would come!

In 11 seasons hunting there the only people I"ve ever seen on it are the owner and a guy marking the boundries. I know the owner real well and he only allows myself and whoever I bring to hunt it.

In the right controlled conditions I have no problem with this style of hunting. Public land, no way.

yep, make this gobbler decoy into a hat to wear in and out of the woods.

A good gobbler shaker call and she is all set. HNF is loaded with birds, opening day is probably her best bet

I can say that I have some properties that I wouldn't be scared to try this on. In fact if I was going to go back to gun hunting birds, I wouldn't be nervous about doing this at all, in the right situations. I have several wide open fields where you can see a long ways and turkeys hang out in them. There is virtually no way that you could get shot with a turkey load from another hunter, unless someone is rifle poaching from a long ways off ... which is a danger regardless of how you are hunting them these days with the ultra realistic decoys that many of us use.

I would not try this in timber or along timber lines even on property that I personally own and am 99.999% sure that no one else will be on. Just not worth the risk. But wide open field 100 yards from any cover ... I'd do it. Be a heck of a rush having a turkey charge in face to face. If I didn't love bow hunting them and working them into the decoys so much, I'd do this in a heart beat actually.
