It's been an odd fall season. Extremes of heat, cold, drought, flood, late leaf drop, and so on. And last night while sitting on stand (at ground level) I noticed a few of these landing on me. Nov 29th and after having multiple nights below 25 degrees, you'd think these little devils would be all done by now. Nope!

Yes it has been an odd season weather wise. The rut never seemed to ever really pick up either.

deer kill is Down this year... is it the weather, or no deer to be killed .... with the milder weather, I would think more guys would be out ...

Weather wise this has been probably one of the best seasons. Other than opening weekend, the temps and overall weather has been nice. I only went opening weekend and that was it.

Opening weekend was down about 20,000 from last year. Currently the firearms harvest is down around 16,000 total and will be closer to 13,000 before season ends tomorrow. So most of the loss can be blamed on opening day. I'm sure there are plenty of other factors, just not sure it's as bad as some think.

it has fallen, where have you been ...lol... a two week gun season... guys had ample time to get back out after day one ... dont blame it on one day boys ... I wish all gun openers would fall this late in the month... heck, push 'em back further and I'd be fine with it ...

Picked a crawling tick off me 11/13 while sitting in stand. It ain’t right. Fix’n to get a little colder here end of next week. What’s odd for me is I haven’t seen a single buck while in stand the entire season.
