I'd like to hear from anyone who's used the evercalm or VS1. This past season being my second year using the products and I've had more deer in sight and up close then ever before. It would be a great thing to hear from anyone that uses the evercalm/ VS1. I'm convinced that this is truly an amazing product. So please share your success stories with us fellow hunters. Thanks a million.

Ok, you asked!

I'm still a sucker for trying the newest scent gimmicks, so I bought a few sticks of the Evercalm. Results were actually worse than with other cover scents I've used. Just as with most any other scent product, if you get the right wind swirls, you can trick yourself into thinking it works. Or mistakenly base your judgement on fawn & yearlings reaction, as opposed to the reaction of wily mature does, which is all that really counts. The unavoidable truth for me, is that there's still virtually no way to fool a mature deer's nose. And for my experience, this product doesn't fool mature deer in the slightest. I'm a scent control freak for 30 years, and after trying every scent control scheme imaginable over those years, I still believe the best scent is no scent at all. Your mileage may vary.

Please keep the wisdom and results from the use of this product. I can personally say that it's worked for me numerous times during bow season with mature deer. So let's keep this thread going.

Have not tried the vs1 but the evercalm helps imho. Being stick form you use it very sparingly and it lasts a long time. I know guys who swear by it for cover scent, especially on boots walking in. My experience has been positive.

I've seen a video from a friend of mine where the MATURE deer came right up to the stinks sticks with the evercalm. Had family down during late archery season on public land where another mature buck in the 160's came within 5 feet of him on the ground on the down wind side.So people can believe what they may. But until you've tried it out you don't know what your missing. Don't have a problem with the scent free world and it's great to think that way. I just know what I've seen while using the evercalm has increased my deer sightings as well. On public land.

I use it only on my boots and only applied in certain scenarios...typically when I believe my path in will or has a chance of being crossed by a deer.

Some stands I slip in and out of and want the least amount of intrusive (scent included).

I have had mature does follow the trail, cross it, smell it and carry on multiple times. To this day I've only killed one mature buck that smelled it directly. I've had a few others not smell it or so it seemed...but direct interaction with it on a boot trail only one mature 4 1/2 year old or older have I witnessed.

Many yearling bucks and even a couple really nice solid 2 1/2s.

For those of you who are either fans of evercalm or just want to try it, Meijer has it marked down 75% off.

That works out to about $4.00 per stick.....
