Has anyone ever read the book by Bill Vale, Hunting Pressured whitetails? I seen some of his videos on youtube and his website. I was thinking of buying it but it cost 50 bucks and 5 bucks for shipping. Just don't know if it is worth it or not.I have been hunting for 32 years but I am always looking to gain knowledge to give me an edge. Any opinions?

I know Bill personally and call him a friend, just wanted full disclosure.

However, I didn't know Bill when I got ahold of the book...it changed my hunting world. I'll be honest it ain't the easiest book to read at times, very very dense with content. Numerous times I've re-read it now and I learn or pick up things each time.

The tracking and wounded deer parts are worth the $55 alone based on I bet in your life time it will find you a shot deer you are having trouble locating.

To me, it is one of the books an avid deer hunter should have in his library of knowledge.

As a matter of fact the corn blind set up video (Ty) on his website, that's me, that corn blind we set up 2 years back now I think....if light had snuck in a touch earlier I had a P&Y buck walk right by one morning....nearly connected, just wasn't legal time yet.

Tynimiller,
Thanks for your input, I watched some of his videos on youtube and he seems to be very knowledgable in hunting pressured areas. It says he hunts in a county in Michigan that has the highest deer hunter rate anywhere. He kills mature deer consitantly on public land in this county so he has got to be doing something right.I picked up a few things just by watching those. I hunt mainly public land too and would kind of like to see how he does it differently from me.

He hunts public and high pressured private...at times only hunting the private for a year or two because the other hunters push him out as they don't have success but he does.

Bill is an awesome man, but I'll be first to admit he has at times so much going through his head it is tough for him to express it in clear and concise terms...not a bad thing but some complain he's hard to follow at times, and it isn't because he doesn't know what he is saying it is because he is already in his head planning sharing a connection after the point he is making now.

I'm interested now... I read a few books which basically recommend finding escape routes - getting there early and waiting for public hunters to push the deer right by you...

I'd like to learn more.

I see he has a calendar too. Of when best times to hunt are. Anyone buy that before?

Does not seem like many people have heard of him and the way he talks all of his big bucks were killed during the dark of the moon phase which this year is the 2nd week of November. I still cringe at paying 55 dollars for the book and
another 20 dollars for the 3 month calendar.

I use his calendar every year...another tool and factor that can intensify movement.

I would recommend the book to anyone looking to learn more.
