What species did these come from?
Whitetail??

A friend's father-in-law recently passed away, and my friend and his wife found these in his garage. Now..... the man moved here from Germany, not sure if they were taken there though...

If there are from Germany most like they are Sika or Roe. One one the left is Sika and a Roe on the right. h.h.

Thought it was odd how they are cut thru the eye sockets and have only the very top bridge plate of the nose!

I would say sika deer also,especially the one on the left.

Hey Bo what's odd about that we cut ours off like that for years till we decided to do the whole skull

Well, I'm originally from Ga (moved 24yrs ago)... and we would cut perpendicular into the skull above the eye sockets, and then cut behind the pedicles... back towards the perpendicular cut above the eyes. Saving only a small square skull cap with the antlers!
We never cut through the middle of the eye socket, and never saving the long skinny piece of the nose plate with it!

This one is covered, but you get the point. Alot smaller and square under the "dressing".

Bo dad cut all his off like that till I seen a picture of the eruo mount deal so we started doin that

BTW y'all, I found out the owner of the two racks above.... was a forest ranger in Germany. Just FYI

Bo did you get to acquire these or just helping getting info, would be neat to add to a collection...
