might be time for some of us trappers to go into the predator control business part time.

Lots of pricey hunting leases and properties in Indiana now. This is a well established practice in the south now on hunting preserves and large leases.

If you own land or have a deer hunting lease, think about this fact from the study

"Coyotes killed 67% of the fawns in an urban environment just as in rural environments."

would love to take a coyote... St.John, In has so many coyotes its like a dog park.

When the volunteer fire alarm goes off ever night at 6pm, the coyotes start screaming. Its freaky when you're in the woods.

You got that right. I live over off 101st and white oak. They can get pretty crazy. I have not seen any in my neighborhood, but have seen the tracks through my yard in the snow. The two herds (one off white oak and the other off 93rd across from the park) seem to be doing pretty good though. I have seen quite a few young deer this summer and fall.

Out west they used to use sirens mounted on trucks to locate coyotes. O'Gorman writes about it in Hoofbeats of a Wolfer.

Yes it works and has been used by hunters and trappers for years to locate coyotes.

Yep! Across from the VFW - There is 20 acres I used to have exclusive hunting permission... before all the houses were built. There are still 8-10 deer that roam around there and likely 20 coyotes... no joke.
