that's why I shoot a big 40 inch ATA bow, 8.125 inch brace. Its slow (relatively) , quiet, and most importantly forgiving and accurate. This is why I mentioned in the other thread the importance of having a good pro shop close who carries the bow line you shoot. When something like this happens, you don't want to be dealing with the boneheads at cabelas or gander mountain.... Originally posted by garman6: No it was a PSE less than 2 years old! I think these really short brace heights they have are affecting the limbs? ITs a lot of stress, sometimes faster isn't always better. But what horrible timing!

I wouldn't have anything worked on at those stores! my local guy just didn't have the right limbs in stock! It's all good though I borrowed a cross bow! Same thing happened to me several years back. it was my fault - lightning came in and I tossed my bow and got out of my metal stand in 2 seconds flat. didn't know the cam had come loose or something similar - huge 8 pointer about 2 days later and no telling where the arrow went. Luckily nothing sprung back at me. Like I said it was my fault on this occasion but that's a lot of power being generated to just break apart.
Deer Hunting since 1999 (Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Montana Antelope) Marketing Guy in Chicago but grew up in Indiana/ Ball State.. blah blah blah.
