Ha, you have been stirring it up lately!

Go post this on archerytalk.com and you will get 20 pages of opinions claiming their bow is the best.

Here is the truth.

I have owned both Mathews and Bowtech and killed deer with both. You just have to shoot both and all brands you can to find what fits YOU best.

Consider your local dealer as well when you consider which brand to go with. You WILL need them and they should be there when you need help last minute. I have both a Mathews and Bowtech dealer close, and both are very good.

Mark at Dead End archery has provided excellent service to me and helped me get setup and tuned to hunt. This is a HUGE consideration when thinking about my next bow purchase.

I hunt with a Mathews now as it fits my style best, longer ATA, long brace height, and very accurate.

Needs to be quite, long ATA, high brace height , I shoot Mathews .....seems to work for me.... I also shoot big heavy arrows so speed is not that big a deal.....

I shoot an '05 Mathews Switchback... and I STILL LOVE it!

I just pick it up yr after yr (10 solid yrs, and with only about 2mo off-time) and it's always still dead on!

Proven deadly yr after yr too! wink

I have only owned PSE and Bear. Loved my PSE but it was getting super old. The Bear was horrendous.

I shot a Matthews at a local custom archery shop and I have been dissatisfied with every bow I've ever held, shot or owned since.

Here's a question for you....Why does Cabelas have such a limited brand of bows sold in stores? It's nerve racking.

x2 on Athens Archery. Lifetime transferable warranty, made in Indiana, best customer service in the industry.

BUT, since you asked between Mathews and Bowtech, I would have to go with Mathews only because of the quality issues that seem to be constant from Bowtech.

They all make great bows these days. You just have to go shoot as many as you can get your hands on and pick what fits you the best.

I tend to gravitate away from the biggest names like Mathews, Bowtech, Hoyt, PSE, and Bear ... simply to shoot something different. I've been shooting Elite Archery bows for the past 6 years and really like them. Athens, Obsession, and Xtreme are some other great options out there.

Lots of great things to choose from that is for sure!

I like hearing your guy's opinions and facts and information. It's a helping guide. Best part of this website. I've heard Mathews is good but I've also heard they haven't been the best. Either way, probably most bows are good. I had a bear for about three years and loved it, and then last year I switched to a Diamond Infinite Edge. It's been great.

I would love to own one... Made in my home county... The owners (I'm pretty sure) live within eye sight of my parents front door and their shop is only like a ten minute drive from my parents house...

Not sure about good better or best. I just know that I have a Mathews Outback that is close to 10 yrs is old and the only thing that I have done to it was replace the cable every 3 seasons, and just had all new rubber inserts installed.

The Switchback in my opinion is the best bow Mathews has ever produced. I have yet seen a newer model they make that does for me what the Switchbacks does.

I've owned nothing else but Mathews since the mid-90's. So, I honestly can't compare. To date, I've owned ten Mathews bows total (eight different models).

That said, the absolute best bow on the market...is the one that fits you best and allows you to be the best shot you can be. For me, that is currently a Mathews Drenalin LD. Like it so much, I own two!

Ive got two Bowtechs now....both have many critters to their credit.... The venerable Allegiance is/was the main bow with the Patriot as the back up....after 9 years the Ally finally cracked a bottom limb, so the Patriot as the back up is now up to bat...killed a Coyote with it this past Fri. while in the deer stand... I'm going to replace the original Ally Limbs with Barnesdale limbs, once my rut vacation is over...I'll replace the limbs myself...no one but me touches my bows and equipment !! ...Been looking at the Bear Arena 34 and the new 2016 Escape...maybe after the new year, I'll end up with one of those...need to shoot 'em first....'prolly go thru Bass n Bucks to get one.....
