My son and I started bow hunting last year, went to Camp Atterbury 8 times with nothing to show for it. This year we tried to find private land to hunt on, no luck. So back to Atterbury on Thursday. Anybody have advise for hunting Atterbury, or maybe suggest a different public location for us? Thanks

find a new place to hunt, lots of other people from suburban indy hunt it for the same reason you did, it's close. And over run with hunters. Did you hunt gun season last year there? then you know what I mean.

Lots of other better public options. Just my $0.02

Indychips.............

Hunt the outer edges where there are grain crops. area 11,12,13 and Driftwood all have them. Also do not neglect the old area 14 that is now controlled by the Army. When I hunted it years ago some of the best bucks I spotted were in those weed/grasslands. Hunt the perimeter of that area.

Atterbury holds GREAT bucks you just to have to spend the time to find a weak spot in their defense............ Then get it done before gun seasons.

When science meets tradition there will be sparks.....

I drive around the area quite often as I live right next to it, but I really don't hunt there. The last drive we went for we saw quite a few deer, but only 3 of them were on the public. One pretty nice buck running through the area JB was talking about. He was with about 7 does. I may try to hunt over there a few evenings this year. There are deer in there, but it's not going to be easy to kill one.
