DawnPatrol OP River Rat D Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 2,873 Indiana	Weedhopper and DawnPatrol will be overseeing the contest This is a buck only contest......to determine your score we are using inside spread to the nearest 1/8" + the number of points on the rack(@ least an 1") For example, an 8 pointer with a 15 2/8 inside spread would score........23 2/8 for the contest!!! Deer must be harvested in Indiana.....you can upgrade your urban buck, special hunt buck, etc. if you want! Just Post a good pic of you and your buck and the rest will be an honor system! The contest will close on January 31, 2016 at the close of urban season! This contest is for BRAGGING rights......! I sure wanted to shoot one like the TV shows but he was too nice for me to pass. Had my son w me for drag help too! Guiding this morning and relaxing, stirring the coals and sipping some cowboy coffee. Sorry to knock you out of the lead Magnum, but it will be short lived, I'm sure! Followed by Buzzards

HNF also and it seems like things are very slow and not much moving. I don't know if they are already on lockdown with does or the does have not came into heat yet cause I have not seen any rut activity at all.

We camped and had bacon tenderloin over the fire last night so doesn't get a lot better than that. I hear you and agree on the rut. It has been slow. That's the first buck I had seen on stand for a couple weeks. Not seeing the does or little bucks running around either. The does I have seen are skittish. Deer like him are hard for me to pass on public....obviously! Good luck I think the hills are about to bust loose soon. Followed by Buzzards

We did see one more decent 8 on stand in the morning working through some thick stuff and one lonely doe that bedded around my son all afternoon today without any bucks pestering. Shot him in Vigo county at 10:00 am on 11/20/15 with my muzzleloader at 15 yards. The funnel I hunt there is full of snake reeds and honey suckle, you cannot hear the deer coming ever! I got lucky that he grunted and announced his presence at 25 yards. I let him clear some brush and he was 15 yards at that time. Its an awesome place to hunt but you have to have patience and wait for the right time, Or just be lucky I guess? He isn't my biggest but its been tough so I will take it.
