I will post the pictures later... I am in school right now so I don't have access to photobucket  But anyways, I will go ahead and tell the story wink
So on Saturday morning, we got up early as usual and ate some breakfast, which was Bill's delicious biscuits and gravy. Zeb and I headed out to Splinter Ridge in search of my first buck. Well we hiked it really far into the hills and after what seemed forever, we finally got into the tree stand. We immediately heard a deer snort probably 20 times and then after a few minutes, did it again. I'll tell you what, the deer down there snort and snort and snort, but up here you rarely here them snort lol. We also heard some owls and some turkeys. After probably an hour into the tree stand, a deer came walking in. I grabbed my binoculars and seen that it was a buck. Well once I got a better look at it, I seen that it was a fork buck. I originally thought it was a 4 pointer. It turned out to be a 5 pointer. There were many times when the deer gave me a shot, but I sat there thinking if I wanted to shoot it or not. After all that, I figured for my first buck it was just fine and so once it came out into the open again, I cocked back the hammer and let'er rip and slayed the buck through both lungs at 18 yards with my 44 magnum rifle. It ran a good ways, actually not too far, and piled up. It left a heck of a blood trail, just blood all over. Zeb found the deer and I got down out of the treestand and we went a got some pictures with it and then field dressed it. It was a long haul out of Splinter Ridge with it, very exhausting. Finally though, we met up with Joe and got the deer loaded up into Zeb's truck. We took it to Joe's, and from there ate lunch and then skinned the deer. Later on Joe said that I still had a doe tag for his property so I took that God-blessed given opportunity up. Joe let me go hunt on one of his spots on the farm and Luke, Brian and I all went hunting. After a couple hours in the treestand we had 7 does come into the field but they got spooked by us and headed off. About an hour later, three more does came into the field. It took the biggest one forever to come into a good clear shot, and Luke started video recording and I shot the deer at 50 yards with my 44 magnum rifle. I shot her right through the heart. She ended up weighing 150 pounds. We got her skinned and gutted and all and all it was a great weekend. Luke and most of the other boys got a deer this weekend as well. It was a great time as usual at Cedar Branch Farms and I cannot wait till hopefully turkey season. Thanks guys! ... And Especially Zeb!! smile laugh wink cool

Magnum, now you know why Zeb is my best friend. He loves to hunt and will go the extra mile for his hunting partner.

I hear you are shaving your head so you two look alike!
