The only thing that really matters is we can still deer hunt.

I wasn't going to waste my time commenting on this thread but your statement needed a response... I have only seen two people ever "whine" on this forum, YOU and one other guy I called out last year and he longer post in the deer section... Not going to mention his name because we all know he is... Never once in Chevy's post did he "whine" about HPR not passing... He was merely pointing out the inconsistency and hypocrisy of the law on the DNR's part... How is one weapon ok but another isn't if they shoot the same cartridge?... The same argument could have been used in pistol cartridges... How was a handgun ok but not a rifle? Personally, I did not care one way or the other about HPR failing or passing (my only concern was for safety for the hunting and non-hunting community alike)... I just want the DNR to be consistent with the rules... If HPR's are going to continue to be outlawed, fine, I'm ok with that, but, then I believe ALL weapons that can shoot rifle cartridges and all rifle cartridges should be outlawed for deer hunting to be consistent... Joe was right about one thing... If they give an inch then everyone wants a mile... When they allowed rifle cartridges in handgun form then it was a matter of time before someone would take a stab at allowing rifles... So, allow all of it, or none of it, remove the gray area so there is no mistake...

Looking at all of this in a broader scope, what is really sad to me is that if there was 1/10th this much caring and passion about conservation and the wildlife wellbeing, not just deer, the whole outdoor experience and hunting would be what it should be. Hunters in general have lost appreciation for the wildlife, the opportunity, the experience,
