Ohio will kill all deer remaining on a Holmes County farm where chronic wasting disease was discovered after the farm's owner was found violating a state-issued quarantine.

I am completely off-ed by this whole enclosed hunting thing. It's like shooting a farmer's cow or catching a 10 lb bass in an aquarium. Who could get any satisfaction from doing this? Not a "hunter" I think.

Deer are not domestic livestock and it's been proven that they get CWD when raised this way. And, some deer are bound to escape from these enclosures to infect the wild deer herd.

I'm a Buckeye and, of course, the state tells us all is regulated, monitored and safe - until it isn't.

But now this is an "industry" in OH and is backed by a lot of money. So, it's almost impossible to control.

There was an article about this in the Cincinnati paper and there was immediate public reaction against the whole idea - and deer hunting by association.

Just ain't right but the almighty $$ is going to rule here.

Funny, Hooisers tend to argue over the length of seasons and the use of X-bows - might be better off focusing on this issue for the long term health of deer hunting.

They dont escape they Turn them loose to add to the 'wild' genetics in the area or charge for guided hunts or enhance the population of their leases

BoAH is tracing deer that could have been shipped here to the Deer Farms and preserves. Another Amish guy that pays no attention to the rules. People need to call and email their State legislator now as there will be a bill to expand deer operations here in Indiana. PM me if you do not know who yours are
