If the Speaker of the House can bag a nice wild Indiana buck, why to we need to kill farm raised one in a pen? Tell your legislators to say no to fenced/farmed Indiana hunts

House Speaker Brian Bosma bagged a 10-point buck Saturday on the opening day of Indiana’s firearms deer season.

“Success. 10 points,” Bosma, R-Indianapolis, wrote on a post that appeared Saturday on his Facebook page, showing him holding the buck’s antlers and wearing a hunter-orange beanie.

Bosma wasn’t immediately available to share his hunting story with The Indianapolis Star, but his spokeswoman, Tory Flynn, said that for the past few years he has hunted with a buddy in Brown County. He’s one of several lawmakers who deer hunt.

She said the buck weighed more than 250 pounds and that Bosma is having it processed into venison.

In an earlier Facebook post, Bosma posted a photo with a caption that said, “Sun coming up slowly on opening day in Brown County. Pretty cold up in the trees.”

Firearms season is when mostofIndiana’snearly200,000 hunters head to the woods. Last year, they killed 126,635 whitetailed deer, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

250 pounds? Man that's a big deer! Must have been a long drag smile I've had fawns that started a mile drag weighing 50# but ended up at 300# smile

Some people don't like venison so maybe he should have it processed into beef. Or bacon. Everybody loves bacon!
