Can a guy coyote hunt during deer season? Would I get gigged by a C.O. for being in woods with 243. How would I convince C.O. that I wasn't poaching?

You can. It's up to the CO to prove you done something illegal. Just like, for example, one can carry a shotgun during archery to shoot turkeys

As long as you are not in possession of a deer then you are not doing anything wrong. h.h.

With gun season coming in this weekend for Indiana...I would just shoot coyotes with your deer gun unless your using a bow...but I don't know what your plans are...it's just what I do. If it's bow season I just shoot coyotes with bow if they come in close enough, even though its never happened to me before but it may

nothing illegal about having a .243 or other "coyote legal rifle" in the deer stand with you along with the weapon you are deer hunting with (shotgun, PCR, bow, xbow, ML, etc).

If you are properly licensed for all game you can have multiple weapons with you at a time.

We always field dress our deer in our open field and coyote hunt over the piles in the evenings...
