I have been hunting Jefferson county for several days now and have yet to see a buck chasing a doe or even looking for one. I have seen several does together and bucks up walking around together. So what's up, where is the rut? Anyone else around here seeing the same? Thanks for the rant.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Hey here in Wayne County I have seen bucks cruising. I have passed several does last week hoping to have a buck chasing but none did. It will happen. Other places are getting really hot. Keep on huntin....

I had a nice 8 and 10 pt. come by at 11am walking and feeding. Just frustrating not hearing any grunting or seeing any chasing. I know the big ones are here. Going to go home tonight, give this place a break and come back in a couple of days.

Been seeing lots of small bucks chasing, cruising at mid day and grunting. Scrape and rub activity has increased a bunch. Next ten days should be best activity of the season.

It was going full bore Sunday but died off in my areas the last couple days. Looking forward to hunting again Friday morning.

Thanks guys. I am going to hunt around home for a couple of days and try again down south. I hope it picks up then. Good luck all.

I'm hunting a farm in Ripley/Jefferson counties. Been here since last Thursday. Action was HOT through Sunday. Not so much since....

Saw a 2-1/2 year old mount a doe Monday PM. Not sure if he actually got the deed done?....or if she was just tolerating him?

I know it is early, but it sure seems alot like lock down right now. Hoping this cold front gets them moving again.

Good luck!
