Hey all, I bought a slug barrel for my 20 gauge 870 on here last year and yet to scope it. Any suggestions for a good scope that won't break the bank?

Bushnell banner 3x9 I put on my hr 500 sw mag stood up to that recoil mule paid $89 back then for it. It sits on my muzzleloader now and has always kept zero

I have had one of these on top of my slug barrel Mossberg 500 for over 5 yrs now. I shot it last weekend to see if it was still zeroed, it is still dead zero after all these years.

I've got a Remington 2-7x32 that came with my wife's 20gauge 870 still has the rings on it. Not a top of the line scope by any means but gets the job done. Believe I sighted it in when she got it then put a scope off an old muzzle loader I had on it so just sitting in gun safe. If ya want it I'd sell scope and rings for 20$, live about 5 miles north of Mackey. Rather it be used then collect dust

A scope that doesn't get much credit but has always worked really well is the Simmons Pro Diamond Shotgun Scope. I've used it in the past and still have one on one of my 1100's. For me, it has always worked well and doesn't break the bank.

I have a pro diamond scope.

Its about a decade old and has been on 2 slug guns and one turkey shotgun. It now is on a .22 coon rifle. Good scope that's been through heck and just won't die.

Here is some friendly advise, spend as much money on a scope as you would the gun. Its better to have a $100.00 gun with a $500.00 scope than a $500.00 gun with a $100.00 scope. Premium scopes very seldom fail and you dont have to re-zero them every year. Look on the net and you be surprised at what a good used quality scope will sell for. Good luck, h.h.

New Redfields are a good value for the money.
Leupold is making them to provide a lower priced offerring. Son in law put one on his 30-06 and I was rather impressed with it.

I agree with HH but will add one last bit of advice when it comes to scopes. BUY GOOD RINGS TOO! Cheap rings are cheap for a reason.....

Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32... one of the best scopes on the market for the $$$... bout $130-150... I have one on my Browning BPS slug gun... and it has been holding up for me for about 9-10 yrs just fine w/ lots of slugs through it!!!

I agree about the rings also... I have Burris steel rings on mine... also mount the scope as low as you can...
