So how many of you do an actual deer camp, where you leave home and camp or stay in a cabin for several days at a time on your deer hunts, rather than coming home each evening?

I miss it. Did the annual Wyoming trip every fall with a group, camped in the mountains and hunted. Thinking about getting back into it soon.

We do deer camp at least during opening weekend of firearms... some years several times throughout the season... it just depends...

Those are the times I really enjoy... spending time with friends & family... hunting is almost secondary...

We do a youth deer camp(this weekend) and then it is deer camp every weekend until deer season closes.I also do a deer camp each year from Halloween thru opening weekend of gun season. My cabin has everything I have at home EXCEPT the wife......LOL.

Whether I'm staying in our camper or at CBF, I'm at some sort of deer camp when hunting.

Biggest mistake I ever Made was buying acreage and living on it I dont have a camp. I live here. If I had it to do over My hunting would not be on the same address as my home Real close but not the same

We're setting up an old 18' camper I just picked up cheap and has 12v with a solar charger I added and propane for cooking and heat. No electric where we're at......It's going on a sweet little spot we call the Nectar Sector this weekend. I fixed minor plumbing leaks and cleaned it this week. Looking forward to some good times with family and friends. Been a few years since we had deer camp so should be a whole bunch of fun. It's about 35 min drive from the house.

Ours is here in CO at 9600 ft. We sleep in a GP small with a wood stove and have a fly over our kitchen. Spend between 5-10 days up there. 2nd season is both elk and muleys for us. This year I only have a buck tag.....week after next smile

61 is a good unit from what I hear. I will be in 25/26 on the East side of the Flattops. If you can see a big log behind the red truck in the last picture, that is the wilderness boundary (no wheels of any kind past that point).

I have viewed the Flattops through my binos and from atop a horse while hunting in the Mt Zirkel Wilderness. Always wanted to visit the flattops as it is a neat looking place. Good luck to you!

anybody in Indiana looking to do deer camp this year, check out the new cabins at Greene Sullivan State forest.

Electric with heat for $35/night.

Lots (thousands of acres) of hunting close also. I don't hunt the area any more but can point you in the right direction.

Deer camp opening weekends and many in between. Especially fun now that the kids are getting more involved. My Son shot his first buck youth weekend. It was for sure a once in a life time experience for both.

This year I was drawn for Shakamak and, although the park is closed, they will rent the cabins to drawn hunters, so doing that with my Dad for the two nights will be the closest to "deer camp" I've done. Really looking forward to it. Only outdoor activity I have went to "camp" for before is ice fishing. Days at a time in a sleep-in ice shanty in Minnesota. I'd love to do deer camp in the Michigan Upper Pennisula.
