I whacked a big ole doe first thing this morning. as I was making my way to the stand and getting in the stand I could hear to bucks sparing not very far from the stand. decided to get my doe out and get out of there. I will be back as soon as the wind is right

Urban Hunting will be different next year if the PROPOSED CHANGES are approved.

1)312 IAC 9-3-2: Changes the urban deer zone license to a deer reduction zone license to be consistent with proposed language changes in 312 IAC 9-3-4 and requires check station operators to check-in deer using the DNR’s electronic harvest reporting system.

2)312 IAC 9-3-3: Allows firearms to be used during the deer reduction (formerly urban deer zone) season, where legal to discharge a firearm, from the first Saturday after November 11 through January 31 of the following year. Use of firearms in deer reduction zones would give communities greater flexibility to manage deer-related problems and should improve deer-harvest success rates.

Watching the woods wake up and spending the morning 20 feet up a white oak on a cool September morning was a great way to kick off this deer season!

This is the first season I have hunted urban season because a friend of mine called me up & begged me to help with his deer problem. He has a house on an urban wooded lot & the deer are eating everything. I told him to fence off all of his bushes & decorative plantings I'll come out to put up some trail cameras here is some of what I got.
These are just a few I picked out there were way more deer than I could show on this post. I sounds like his property is in the pathway between a bean field & bedding area.





Now I'll have to wait for time off from work to hunt, I could take vacation time but I don't want to waste vac time to hunt those young deer. I admit he does have a lot of them but they are mostly smaller deer. I guess I could teach him to hunt but that will take time too. It would be great for a kids hunting spot. I never been in this situation with too many deer to hunt.
