Switched from Muck Woody Max to LaCrosse Aeroheads this year. Had no idea about Muck's HSUS affiliation when I made the decision.

Never owned any Mucks and never will now. Will stick with my Irish Setters and Red Wings.

Saw that..sad! Plan on getting the lacrosse aeroheads this winter when the sales start again.

Thanks for the post THROBAK. Have you seen the original post by them about the donation? I am not great at Facebook and can't find it. I see all the comments but not any facts. I hate to comment without knowing the full story. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

there are Lot better choices to donate money to and have fundraisers for I Bet someone was using their position to push personal agendas But too bad I wont buy their boots

Our post inaccurately stated that a donation was made to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Moreover, the post itself was inappropriate under the circumstances.

Family members of an employee who recently passed away requested that, in lieu of flowers, co-workers donate funds to the Humane Association of Northwestern Rhode Island, a local association founded in 1978 to solve community issues primarily related to stray cats. They are not affiliated with HSUS as the posts incorrectly stated.

The money is not a corporate donation, but a collection of personal contributions from employees with the intent of remembering a beloved co-worker. While our intentions were good, the use of corporate social channels under these circumstances was inappropriate.

Okay folks to clear things up - WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A DONATION FROM MUCK BOOTS! WE ARE NOT AFIILIATED WITH THE HSUS. Although a $2000 donation would be very nice. But please stop calling us to ask, we have enough to do caring for the animals in our shelter and taking care of out clinic patients.

Seems to me a lot of Cats are busy doing what cats do covering up do-do LOL

My next pair I would like to be mucks...even though this should be my job to figure...but what kind of muck boots would you recommend for hunting...like, I mean most reliable???

Cabelas makes some great boots. Best I've owned.

Wouldnt buy mucks after reading this if they were on sale for 5$ and thats NOT a joke.

Lacrosse boots are great. Alpha Burlys are very good boots.

My favorites are the air grip burlys because they tend to be more durable

I'm not gonna do nothing 'til the dust settles but they never lost a customer in me anyways. My next boots will be the Aeroheads.

It's amazing how social media can start a firestorm IMMEDIATELY.

I don't know what really happened with Muck boots but here is the latest from the company I can find.....

“Thanks for your post Ryan. Needless to say, yesterday was not a good day for us and certainly not our social media team. We made a mistake — ok several — and for that we’re really, really sorry.

Truth be told, here’s what happened…we suffered the loss of a colleague from cancer. As you can surely understand, that’s never easy. Regardless of what really may/may not have happened, or what Muck management says and/or tries to prove, Muck boots will likely never be purchased by many customers again.

And that will obviously translate into a very expensive lesson concerning the use of social media for the Muck boot Company.......

If people were to not frequent stores or companies that have donated to local humane societies or organizations, you'd be hard pressed to be able to go shopping for a lot of things. This is an unfortunate thing for Mucks but I really think it has been a little blown out of proportion.

+1. Unfortunately today we live in a society that seems to immediately assume the worst. I don't know what the whole story is with this incident, but I do know that the Muck Boot Company is going to take a financial hit.

The other side of the coin is that Americans have a short memory and this too will blow over.

After all....how many people today are boycotting Smith & Wesson after the company crawled into bed with the Clinton Administration? And how many people today are boycotting Ruger firearms after Bill Ruger himself said “No honest man needs more than 10 rounds in any gun.”?

I'd say not too many...in either case.
