Got out Sunday morning and did some daytime hunting for the first time in a while. First set, called in a big beautiful male but couldn't get a good shot. Ended up missing but turned on coyote distress and within seconds, here came 3 more coyotes right into my lap. Missed the first one, dropped the second one and couldn't get on the third one. Come to find out, my AR was off but got that problem fixed and ended up killing another that afternoon with a good buddy. I'd say the time of the year is here guys.

I really need to get on them too. Will probably have to start the snare line. Got a trail cam video last week with 4 running together.

Good job fellas. Magnum you seem to be getting pretty good at calling. It sure is fun, especially when you get em in close. Dying rabbit works the best for me. I like to call right at sundown or just before. Dogs lay up all day are ready for an easy meal or so they think. I killed a female opening day but haven't seen any more since, im still deer hunting. Go luck and kill them all...h.h.

Yes sir, I've been trying to get good at the whole calling thing. Rabbit distress has worked on many occasions and on many more it has not, but I am really thinking about investing in some more hand calls just to mix things up with the e-caller.

Caught a couple today, 1 female and 1 male. That is 5 females to date. There was a fresh snow on this AM and I only saw 2 fresh yote tracks....not sure it wasnt the same dog. This snarling will definitely make a difference in fawn survival this spring and summer. h.h.

You are doing good!

I've been away on a hunt but need to get back on them ASAP.

Got 2 more females today. One of them was in heat. Thats 7 females and 1 male this year. I cant believe Im snaring all these females.....but Im not complaining. I figure Ive took 35 - 40 pups out of the gene pool and saving some of next years fawns. h.h.

Snared another male today, no picture, forgot my phone. Fur on this one was bad, rubbed on top of his shoulders. Added 4 more snares to my string. Count is 7 females, 2 males...new snow coming tomorrow should show how many are left. h.h.

Season is over for me, pulled my snares Thursday. Caught 7 females and 2 males off my property. 7 females would have produced between 40 - 50 pups on average....that would be a lot of mouths to feed.....I figure fawn survival rate in my area just went up. h.h.
