I know several of you and some of our vendors have been asking about our annual Deer Measuring Expo. Welp........after contacting several measurers, it was a pretty easy call to cancel this event this year. There is VERY little to measure.........which is what the HRB measurers we have come in have been telling us. We also have had several taxidermists tell us their head count is down anywhere from 50%-75% from just 2 years ago. The top HRB measurer told us he has yet to measure an HRB buck this year!!! Another group of measurers were at an outdoor show here up north a few weeks back..........and only 4 heads were brought in for 2 days of the show. And another HRB measurer said his phone has not rang ONCE this year for measuring.

After this weekends Indy show........sounds like some HRB bucks were brought in..........but again, the # of deer measured was down.

So......with that being said..........we will be canceling this years Deer Measuring Expo. Just another sign of the deteriorating deer hunting conditions that are happening across the state with our current deer regulations. Significantly less deer.......and Significantly less quality numbers in the field.....

Keep in mind......the IDNR is still taking feedback on their web-page till Feb 28th. Feel free to let them know how you feel about the destruction of our herd.

I know I saw just one truly big buck while hunting this season

I shot a decent buck with my bow, just under 120, honestly fooled me, thought he was bigger. Wide and heavy, no tine length or beam length.

Saw a biggun that did get shot, had him at 47 yards and could not get the video camera on him in time. Guy said it measured 170's..

Wow.....screw the camera.... grap the GUN!!!

I know, I know..... just made a pact I would not shoot anything not on video this season.

It did happen quick, I could have just grabbed the bow and put an arrow through him. He was standing perfect, no wind and nothing in the way. He spotted the buck and doe decoy and did not like them. I had him last year, same day react the same way. he was in the mid 140's last year. November 9th

...and the side effects of our regs begin to take shape...
