I am 61 years old and just getting into this wonderful sport. When a 6 point Buck came by on opening day I did not hesitate to make my kill shot. 53 yard shot from a ground blind. 12ga. deerslug passed through both lungs. I was elated. This is my 2nd Buck to bag. My first was 2 years ago. It is a blessing to be living the dream.

Quite while your ahead, just more sleepless night before a hunt, lots more money spent on stuff to hunt with, more guns to get maybe even a crossbow.
Congrats Bushwacker on a nice deer. And many more.

Thanks for all of your comments. Now here is how I explain my interest in Deer Hunting. First off, I'm not a spectator sport type person. Could care less about ball sports but I do respect those that do. For me being in the woods deer hunting is equivalent to the Biggest Colts Football Fan attending a Super Bowl with the Colts playing and said fan being on the 50 yard line in a choice seat. I would have gotten into Deer Hunting long ago but 1. I was never ask to go. 2. I was to dumb to ask somebody to let me go with them. 3. I had a fear of hunting on public lands. 4. Had not been orientated to the sport. Everything changed above... except I still have not hunted on public land. Now I am living the dream and my life has not been happier. I did have a fall using my treestand last year. The treestand slipped off the tree when i was standing about 9 foot off the ground on the ladder portion of it. I was in the process of changing the position. Major open fracture of the right ankle. Still dealing this this injury...but determined to keep hunting.

Congratulations! I hate to hear of the injury to your ankle but am glad that didn't keep you from returning to the woods.

That is a great deer!
