I'm in the thought stage....
Considering trading off my viper for a good comfortable ladder stand. Any interest out there?
I only hunt my own woods anymore so dont need a climber. It just goes on a tree and stays. Would prefer something harder to walk off with. Must be comfortable. I have plenty of uncomfortable ladder stands already.

i dont care for hang ons, they seem to be what everyone gets killed out of. i want more than a thin cable keeping my platform from dropping me. ****, my beagle can wear out and break the 90# dog cables within days...and theyre alot heavier than the thin ones ive seen on hang ons.
and again, want something more theft proof.
ill check into their ladders though.

One thing Ive found with ladder stands is the bigger the seating area the better sitting they are.
Ive got a stadium ladder stand the seat and shooting rail rap around the tree. Its very sturdy and well built. Got it a Menard's on sale a few years ago. I'd buy another one but I think they quit making them. h.h.
If you're not a hemorrhoid, get off my butt.

I got this a couple of years ago at Rural King on sale for $175 and LOVE IT... Seat swivels, has a wrap around camo tent so from the ground only your head is visible... I would say one thing about that this NOT made for bow hunting out of but could be done though, and, it is a pain in the butt to set up to a tree even with two people cause it is a heavy well built stand... Hey Dave, I would check this out if I were you, its a nice stand... Sorry forgot to add a link http://www.huntriversedge.com/spin-shot

Will do. My ladders go up and stay up for the most part.

The stand I use you probably could not use a traditional bow at all and a compound bow would be tricky and limit your shooting significantly... You are going to need a ladder stand with a flip up rail so you could use your traditional bow...

i hear ya. i have three. one doesnt have a rail..or armrests and rarley gets used. its the cheapest kind out there, got it in as trade. my other two have the swing up gu rails you can move out of the way. ones a buddy stand other a single. both are **** on the butt and back for sits over three hours.
i have one hang on thats comfy, but i dont like the cables lol. it resides in a huge osage tree about ten foot or so up. perfect part of tree for blending in and close enough to the ground i can bounce.

I have a couple really low, really blended in stands like that. But, I don't "bounce" as good as I used to! :roll eyes: I'm really kind of partial to ground blinds any more.

I have a love hate relationship with my blind. It awesome comfy and dry but the limited visibility drives me nuts sometimes.
Now if it was up on a platform six foot or so....hmmm

Dave if you decide to sell please pm me sir. I have one summit climber but would consider adding another. During my "rutcation" I like to move a lot and have a lot of first sits so sometimes one climber isn't enough lol. I'm your way twice a week we can work something out I am sure.

Yes I have and will be when I pull all my stands this year for some maintenance.
Really only considering a trade at this time. Might just hang on to the climber and try to catch the ladders on clearance before they are gone
