I am probably like others, seen deer early bow, then dried up, now seeing very few deer.

I have filled my freezer by taking deer from 4 counties over 6 farms and the Pokagon Park hunt.

Seen two shooter bucks and a few scrubs

Like aliens have taken the deer herd LOL.

I've made a commitment for next couple seasons to only take a buck, except for urban.

I am going to take some out of state hunts to fill the freezer.

Just out of curiosity, how many deer have you taken this year?

The average hunter takes only one or two deer a season. From what your saying I don't see where you have any reason to gripe. confused
I saw a bunch in bow season & took a doe. The first hour of gun season I took my buck, just wish I had waited a bigger buck came through the next day.
There were a lot of deer coming through the last of gun season but I couldn't get out to hunt.
Now I think the deer have gone nocturnal because I see lot of tracks in the snow but don't see any in the day time.

I shot 2 does during bow season, didn't do much gun hunting. I'm pretty much a fair weather hunter anymore.

Took a bb at Big Oaks, 3 does opening morning of firearms, buck that evening and doe from Versailles. Seen deer about every time out during archery and slowed considerably as year has gone on. Still trying to fill my buck tag here in Ohio. Mainly nocturnal movement now.

1 doe and 1 buck! I quit going after shooting a buck.....although my wife did yell at me to shoot another doe! Movement was good from the start of November until gun......as usual! I've slept in opening day of gun 2 years in a row!

Agree, I did not see the numbers in bow in light but my game cam's told a different story. Then gun season.

I wish I could sleep in, my Miami farm I have to be there or the trespassers will over run it LOL.

I think its just the increased human activity in the woods during Firearm season that turns the deer almost nockturnal.

I went out the last Saturday of gun and saw 9 doe that night and a couple bucks

Trying to get this guy his first deer at a property in Noble county. It has lots of deer sign, but very thick and almost impossible to get back to the area that looks the best

Got a few does. 1 with a bow, 1 with my loader, and 1 during reduction hunt. Luke has struggled this year and he is learning that is hunting.

Seen more deer checking traps than during the season. We take the loader with us when checking. One will make a mistake.

Deer was done after opening gun weekend. Good year. Now sitting watching a river with ice flows going down it preparing for an attach on steelhead and browns. Glad I'm not deer hunting in the cold. Fishing instead. It's called being an idiot.

My season is about the same as previous years, I took a buck the last week of archery. we always seem to wait until now for does as we don't want to shoot our "bait" earlier in seasons.

Probably have slacked off as I took my grandson all of the general gun season. We had opportunites for bucks but an 11 year old can be difficult to set the ime needed to kill a decent buck. He settled on a mature doe the last weekend and that gave him two deer for the year. good investment of time in my opinion.

This is a GREAT time to kill a mature buck, they need to eat and eat alot! I'm after a couple more does to fill a freezer, mature does. Probably take care of one this weekend.

This was my toughest deer season ever. I would really hate to figure how many times and hrs total I spent in the woods this year and had trouble even seeing deer. Did manage to take 2 does with a shotgun but no buck worth shooting. Even in muzzy season the deer are not moving until after dark. I thought i was a pretty good deer hunter but after this year I am not so sure.

yes, anytime we can invest in taking our youth out its great.

And your right, the big bucks are out more now to feed up. Just getting our old butts out ourselves LOL

Haven't sat in a stand since November 15
Hunting next two days and that will probably be it for me. Certainly excited. Hopefully no pressure for last 4 weeks and standing corn will have them moving during daylight hours.

I'm not gonna complain smile

James' youth weekend doe. His first unassisted deer.

My recurve doe. My first trad deer on public land.

My brother's first trad buck:

I also filled an antlerless tag on private land during gun season.

All-in-all, it's been pretty good so far. Still hoping for a couple chances to fill the buck tag late bow season or maybe with the ML.

Merry Christmas to you all!

John

p.s. I just had roast venison and brown eggs for breakfast.
