Anyone have a deer cart they would be willing to part with (sell) or at least loan out for couple days?
After scouting Brown Co park, I think a cart will be necessary for the early reduction. DNR will not be driving hunters in or helping haul deer out this year.

Thanks guys.
Still looking at options. I will let you know if I still need to borrow. I thought I was buying one off Craigslist this evening, but the guy backs out of selling it 20 min before we were supposed to meet!

menards has the plastic sleds. i have both a sled and a cart and as stated, a sled is most typically preferred.

How do you wrap the deer and pull the sled? The ones I have seen looks like the ropes would pull off or out of the holes.

The sled laces up like you would a shoe with deer inside. There is a big rope hole at the top to tie to the neck or antlers. I cut a small pole and tie the pull rope to it so 1-3 guys can pull at the same time. Ive had mine many years and we've pulled out a lot of deer in the hills and ravens of Patoka. h.h.

I had a cart and sold it years ago because it tipped over easily, center of gravity too high. Especially on any little side hill.....agravating. I hunt pretty fair elevation changes in southern HNF. Part of the drag you need a sled, part of it a cart, maybe, if you get to a horse trail or logging road. Better yet, take a couple buddies that are bigger and younger!

If you're going over mud or pretty uneven ground or numerous sized sticks, a sled tends to work a heck of a lot better but on hard level ground the wheels a pretty nice, in my opinion.

I have thought about a sled as well (or instead of a cart). For the reduction hunt it will be primarily trail, horse trail, & fire road so the cart should be ok. Looks like Menards has a cheap one as well. http://www.menards.com/main/p-2355888-c-13900.htm

Ive used a cart and sled. Sled is by far the easiest to use in a woods. If you are using some kind of roadway then the cart is a good choice as long as the road way is clear. h.h.
