What kind of mods have you guys done to your stands? I have only done small things such as add a quiver bracket like on your bow to the side of my stand . And I put spray foam in my stand to quiet it down a bit when carrying it in or when things bump it. I know some of you guys have came up with all kinds of great ideas.

The Third hand archery bow holder is the best thing I have done for my summit viper.

It works with my bow and crossbow.

These are also great at keeping the top section of the a Summit climber cinched down tight.

Beech Grove,In,
I use the an oldman climber son uses summit. I added pipe insulation around the top rail for padding and noise reduction.
I also have to give a +1 to the Third hand bow holder and cinch strap. myself, my son and 3 friends us holder and straps. he had a good deal on them at the deer n turkey show last year. saved on shipping.

+1 for the stabilizer straps. They make your stand solid as a rock once you tighten them down. You never have to worry about bumping your stand while wearing bulky clothing and having the top slide down the tree. If you have a climbing stand, they are a must have!

Years ago when I bought my Summit Viper, this strap came with the stand. Not sure why they do not include it anymore - cutting into profits??

Summit climbing stands still come with one utility strap

Third hand archery sells a pack of two straps, for the left and right of the stand

taking my climber in to have it sprayed with Rhino liner for next year. Hate the cling and clang of it when walking in with branches or what not hitting it.

I knew you guys would have a few good Ideas. I never thought about rhino liner but I like the idea. How much weight do you expect it to add to your stand?

Thats a great idea... Practically will last forever...

Please let us know how much that will cost because I am now interested in doing my ladder stands...

+1

You going to do the whole thing? Would the liner make the platform a bit slick?

I also use pipe insulation on my guardrail. I added extensions to the seat which now holds my extra stuff in the stand. I also painted the rungs on my ladder stand and added sand before it dries .

I'm going to have the entire stand coated. I already put the spray foam inside the tubing which helped a lot. I've talked to a few that have done there equipment with Rhino and it does add a little weight but not enough to really notice a difference. As long as my equipment doesn't feel like a 75lb rucksack I'll be in business lol but sometimes I think I'm packing that much.

I do know it should be done early in the year so the new smell is gone by season opener. I'll let you guys know the out come and post some pictures on here.

I did that as well... I need to replace the zip ties since they rotted and broke off...

I put some of the tape on the standing part that they use on steps for traction that is pretty much sand paper. Really helps when wet outside.

You can also get the bed liner stuff at Menards. I did the back of my truck myself years ago.

My stand is an API grand slam magnum and the shrink tube needs to be replaced on the chains . Do any of you guys know where to get any in pieces 7 feet long 1 inch in diameter around Shelby county? My stand already had the pipe insulation on it but I also wrapped it in Mcnett tape. It is kind of like the newer tape that they wrap your arm in when you get a shot or give blood but its camo.

For the shrink tube you might try B&H Electric 1127 Miller Ave. ask for Mike or Kirby Risk Electric 2323 E. Michigan Rd. both in Shelbyville

took the sling seat off my Summit Viper.. sure its comfortable , but too , plus it seems like it always slipped down too far and I felt like I was in a chair I could not get out of.

I took a piece of 1 x 6 cedar plank I had left over from a job and put a pad and vinyl on it, then attached it with some heavy duty zip ties so I can lift it up.
