Thank Bill Clinton for another base shooting!!!!!! Why would one make the bases of the most highly trained military in the world "gun free zones"? That's no different than civilians not being able to defend themselves in their own homes with a firearm. INSANE!

First shot up a joint recruiting center in a strip mall sort of set up and then the deaths occured at a Navy-Marine Corps Reserve Center.

Except for airbases, all the reserve centers I've been around aren't very secure. Some have a parking area and front office that are public access and just the grounds are fenced. Even if a gatehouse prevented him from getting on the grounds, he could have hit them by shooting from the fence line or gate area because they simply aren't big enough for the chainlink perimeter fence to be far enough out to keep the people inside safe from gunfire.

Actually, on the map it looks like the whole place is only around 170 yards x 160 yards. The only overhead pic of the scene I can find looks like his car is maybe 20 yrds into the secured parking area and there's a large bent and smashed gate, but oddly his car doesn't appear damaged as if he smashed through the gate. Maybe it's just not noticeable in the image I'm looking at. I think this pic is a still from news chopper footage, to the video would show it better.

In 1968 , Vietnam , the morning after TET our M 16 was taken from us .The Army was afraid we may hear something and start shooting . Oh , my hooch was 40 Yards from the perimeter .
So this is not new for the ones in charge .
