Guys, I bought a 115v 45psi pump so I can pump water out of a cistern at my deer camp for showers. There are three wires on this pump. I thought it would come with a male plug.

My question: Can I put a male plug on the end of it and plug into an electrical outlet without frying the thing up?

Not sure, but im guessing not best setup for that pump.

I have a Wellmate pressure tank im looking to get rid of if you're interested.

Should be a hot, neutral and ground. I would think you could. Wouldn't be any different then wiring it direct.

I'm not an electrician by any stretch but I think but I think hooking it up to a male plug probably wouldn't be that big of a deal... I would check the amperage so as to not pop the breaker

I don't understand why it didn't have a plug in in the first place...

Oftentimes those pumps will come like that to enable a float hook-up.
