Is it just me or all of these talk forums dying a slow death. I know things slow down after deer season but they all seem to be struggling. Few posts and not much conversation at all !!

There is minimal information typically provided by most sites and differing opinions, beliefs and hunting practices lead to controversy and conflict, which most people 1) don't like and 2) can't handle it without making it personal via naming calling and such. I believe the combination of many of these things then limits and interaction.

Delaney is right on. The issue is that too many like minded people congregate on the boards where they are agreed with most of the time. (not always). Disagreements turn personal as users hide behind their keyboards.
Social media has surely added to their demise. quicker reacts from friends or others on a broader platform.
Still check this thing every day though.

Good forums go to heII when the site administrator plays favoritism to get free hunting from his buddy, then allows his buddy to badger good members until he runs them off. His buddy doesnt have to follow forum rules and knows it.

The same administrator banned others for the same thing his buddy is doing. When the guy who helped start the site jumps in to stop this, the site administrator says leave him alone, I'll take care of it, but of course never does.

This goes on for 1 1/2 years before the guy who helped start the site gets enough and deletes his account, never to return.

The site administrator cares more getting free hunting benefits from his out of state buddy than being a hypocrite. Sad part is most all the members know the site administrator is a hypocrite.
