Heading up north soon, and would like to check out the dunes. Any suggestions on which is better - State Park or National Park??

Thanks!

It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're flying with a bunch of turkeys.

it is all basically connected. the park is really nice and has an excellent nature ctr. take time to walk the beach.or as i did, sit on top of a dune and have lunch watching the ships go by.

We prefer the east one, which ever one that is. Longer walk to get there, over Mt Baldy, but generally less crowded. While you're there, I'd reccomend a burger at Redamak's Tavern in New Buffalo

The State Park is surrounded by the Federal. Easy to hit both. Nice to hit up Michigan City too while over that way. We go to the outlets, then to the Michigan City beach and lighthouse, and there are a couple good bars and restaurants in town. My route to Michigan City takes me past the parks, so we usually make a whole day of it, hit up one park on the way to Michigan City and another on the way back. Watch the sun go down from Kemil Beach.
