I hear that. I'll have to try and barrow one.

I got drawn this year for the early and late hunt there. I am hunting with a group of guys that has hunted numerous times there and have had some good success also! Going this Sunday to scout out the area we are in. They have said if you shoot a deer there it sometimes feels like more work than its worth to get the thing out! Guess we'll see.

There are some areas that are relatively flat while other areas you almost need a rope to repel down.

I'm going to scout a bit tomorrow. I'm in the northernmost section which is night quite as rugged.

Google Earth is great for pre-scouting and checking the landscape.

I've hunted the park numerous times as well. I've killed a few out of there. Last time I killed in there I shot two that came in behind me. Took me well over 3 hours to get them both back to the truck. It was a lot of work, but I think a deer cart would have worked against me where I was. I'll be in there again this year for both hunts.

I have hunted the park three times and have always killed deer. My son killed a 152" tenpointer. It is in the record books. The guys who work at the park are great. If you are in a rugged area in the southern portion, they will help you get your deer out. You just have to get them to the horse trails.
