Finally... I got time to get out on some ice before its gone. With this next weeks forecast this 10" ice will not last. Caught a pile of little one's but scratched out a few to fillet.

We've got closer to 2' in northern part of the state, but it's getting real sloppy on top now and this weeks forecast doesn't look good.

We caught 32 crappie Saturday, then a half dozen fat bluegill on Sunday. have had a great ice season, lots of crappie this year.

Looking forward to open water.

I got back late last night from a 3 day Erie trip. We rode 7.5 miles out on 4 wheelers on 30" of ice. First few miles there were a lot of pressure cracks with push ups we had to go over and the first few were kind of scary but after a while they seem like nothing. Caught our limits each day of 6-8 lbs. walleyes. The bite was medium to slow but once we found the right jig which was a crappie size rapala we started to catch fish. We lost a lot of fish due to the small hook size of the jigs. I wish we could have stayed until today but my partner had to get back. Great time and I hope to do it again next year. Im sorry but I didnt take one picture the whole trip. h.h.

Its walleye for dinner today. I actually was going to take pictures before I cleaned them yesterday but I was worn out and my mind wasnt working on all cylinders. After I had cleaned them I remembered I hadnt taken any pictures.

It was a very fun trip and I hope we get enough ice to do it again next year. The only bad thing to the trip was I left all my small jigs at home and they wouldn't bite big jigs. My friend had two small jigs and gave me one and luckily both colors worked. Sometimes size does matter... lol h.h.

We fished Erie on the 9th and 10th also hornharvester. We went out of camp perry around 7 or 8 miles and did very well both days. We had two 11 lbers on Tuesday and 5 total at 10 or better for both days. We had limits early both days and fun fished for awhile before heading in.

I'm done, packed the gear away for the season a few days ago. Ice is getting too sloppy, wet, and dangerous. Time to hunt sheds and start thinking about open water fishing and mushrooms.

Had a great ice fishing season. Caught a ton of crappie, a few messes of bluegill, and some nice messes of perch on a trip to Michigan. Got all the fish I wanted to eat, and gave a good many away to friends.
