Curious what you all use? Spinning, straight line, schooley or others?

I got into the spinning rods but have lots of troubles with line twist and the twists getting caught in the spring bobbers. My son gets awful line twist and ends up getting a mess in the reel.

I've been looking at these straight line combos that look like fly reels. I'm guessing no line twist with these.

There is no line twist with the in line reels at all, I started using one of these reels this year and LOVE IT. I will have a few more poles set up with them next year but keep a few spinning reels set up for deeper water.

Can I put them on the rods my spinning reels are on? I would just convert a couple over. I'm looking at the reel from eagle claw.

Yes you can use the same rods. I got the one from eagle claw and I really like it because of the free fall button on the side of it.

Yes I have found the combos and reel only. May be a next year purchase unless ice just stays on for another month.

I like the spinning reels, faster retrieve than the in lines which helps when fishing deeper.

For rods, you want something with a built in spring bobber for live bait fishing the light biting fish, then another longer, sensitive rod without a spring bobber for jigging.
