I have not seen or heard any of the periodic cicadas HH. They have a different sound than our annual's. Even though its been a long time since I've heard them, I will know the song. The summer/fall they were here last, my Father and I caught more fish than we could in 5 years combined! We would float Laughery creek, Flatrock rivers, and wade sand creek. White water S.P. was great also. Every cast was almost guaranteed fish. You never knew what you were going to catch. A live cicada buzzing on top caught anything around, including carp, cats, crappie, and bass. We could fill a cricket cage with live cicadas in about 5 minutes. Bet the fish got sore necks from looking up that summer!!!!! I remember Dad commenting that he hoped he was still around to see another 17 yr hatch. Unless Mom kills him before then, looks like he will be around for us to do it again!!!!

We ended having to put a cow and calf in there for a week to treat them. She must have moved the pups out. I seen her sunning on a bulldoze pile on the back of the place a couple weeks later…..
