Anybody fished this lake before? We are headed down there this weekend for a bachelor/fishing party.

Any advise on the lake would be great
Thanks

I have fished Reelfoot several times but not recently. We did good in the North portion of the lake. Bluegill fishing should still be good. Word of warning the lake is shallow at the North end and full of stumps,if it is windy it will get rough in a hurry. Plenty of lilly pads and stumps that hold fish. We stayed at Sportsman's Resort North.

Get a map and find the area they call "race track" great drift fishing there.. good bass can be found in " burnt woods".

I've been there a bunch. Your a bit late for great crappie fishing but should be prime bluegill time, and Reelfoot has lots of big bluegill.

Best deal is to ask an outgoing party where they were having success. We always caught lots of nice bluegill right in the shade of the lilly pads, but the whole darned lake looks like great fishing, so you just need to keep moving till you find them. Most of the lake is 6' or less in depth, so fish about 3' deep and keep moving.

Another fun deal is to buy a few of those YoYo reels they sell in the bait shops and set limb lines for channel cats. They are pretty easy to catch.

Reelfoot is a great place, have fun.

I am friends with Blue Bank Resort on FAcebook. They are posting multiple pics a day of huge crappie being caught! Never fished it myself but would love to get into some of the fish they have posted!

I used to love going to reelfoot and still do but man its just not what it used to be as far as gills go anyways. you know its changed when the fileting stations go from having 50 gal. drums to 5 gal buckets. still fun though. not like theres not big ones just not near as many
