Has anyone else seen a crossbow bolt go through the shoulder socket of a deer? Not only did my grandpa's new ghost 350 shoot through, but went all the way through the deer. He must have taken a quartering to shot. My grandpa has a thing for the shoulder and I have seen many gun shot deer not have this kind of damage. I prefer to pull back off of the shoulder.

I don't think deer have shoulder sockets.

True, but the thick part where the bone meets the blade.

I am not surprised. Do the calculations about KE for a bolt traveling at 350 fps.

KE and the improved accuracy is why I switched to a crossbow this year.

Yep, both Carie and I switched to cross bows this year as well, anything I can do to put the odds on my side!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Hard to beat an Excalibur if your wanting "traditional".

DFA Go with the recurve. It has totally renewed my love of hunting. I shoot mine everyday. I am pretty good out to twenty. Hunting with it has made me a better hunter. I doubt I will ever go back to a compound.
