WHAT?????? eek Throwback there's a grinner on your shoulder...

That's some nice catches Chevy and I definitely agree...tired of the mud. Caught 1 more coon today and he was covered in mud again. The creek rose from the rain and about half my DP's were under water.

Christmas morning check was a pretty good one even though I think my wife was burning holes in the back of my head while I was walking out the door shortly after the boys open Christmasbut due to the time constraint not a very good picture but here is what I got [Linked Image]

Nice Nick. I'd get her some flowers because she may remember.

Nice catches, Nick. I would be thrilled with a mink, muskrat, and 2 coons any day of the season!

Wow. After 3 blank days on my first ever beaver sets, I walked up to them today with thoughts of maybe doing a few modifications. It looked like they had went around a couple of my 330's in the water. My what a surprise!! Not only did I have a double this morning, but they are huge!!! My big buck scale has them at 50# and 59#. I like to never got them drug up the river bank!! Pictures will be added soon. Got to get back down and reset them. Also got permission to set coyote traps across the river from me. I see more over there than on my side.

Man, one of those two beavers is going to look awesome tanned and stretched in my basement in one of those wooden hoops! I have wanted one for a couple years and only one from my dad's farm would work! Good job dad!

Nice catches all. I miss a few days and missed your catches.

Been crazy busy. Luke got some new traps for Christmas and is ready to put some more steel out. We are about to get to it for real.

Delaney. They haven't touched any trees yet. Saw no sign at all this year until just a few days ago when they started taking out the soybeans in my deer food plot. The river has several soybeans plants floating along the edge where they have pulled them in. It will be interesting to see if there are any more or it was just these 2 that moved in.

Caught 2 coon and my first muskrat this morning. Just set a few colony traps on a new creek 2 days ago. Heve never trapped rats before so this is new for me.

Caught another one that has mange. Not as bad-looking the other mangy one last week. But he had guard hair missing off his tail, and hair loss with scaly skin on the body.

A shame 'cause he was a nice big male probably 38-40 lbs.

At least he's out of circulation and won't be spreading it.

Technically, for this forum, it should be dead, stretched, and drying on a board. Show me a pic of that, and I'll "nice catch ya"!!! BTW- be sure to include a picture of you with knots and bruises all over your head from your wife!!!! laugh laugh

Sticksender…just the picture of that yap gave me a case of the Heebee Jeebies. I'm itching all over now!! laugh

I HATE canine trapping in the mud. Give me 4" of frozen solid dirt any day!!!! I'm ready, just waiting on the mud to go away. In the meantime, I sat a float trap (first for me) a conibear, and two long spring #1s for rats in the pond today. Made a dirt hole for coons, that will probably have a grinner in it tomorrow.

I pulled today, mud is not the problem but access is.

I can't get down the farm lane now without making ruts, which I won't do. My relationship with the farmer, who owns 1000+ acres and lets me hunt and trap exclusively, is worth way more than a coyote pelt...when it freezes up I will be back

Good yote 76 and I like your attitude on landowner relations. We didn't turkey hunt this weekend for the same reason. I just refused to walk carrying everything for a half mile through the mud and the ATV would have made one heck of a mess.

Nice ones SS, Chevy, and Luke. nothing for me today. Put out a couple more dirt holes and a few snares. I agree Chevy, I've got a grass lane to drive back a ways but have been parking at the road. I can still drive my ATV back from there without making much tracks though.

traditionalarcher, no doubt you're right. That other mangy one I caught last week was much further along. But not quite to Mr. Bigglesworth stage yet wink

throback, I was wondering about that. I read that canine sarcoptic mange is caused by a similar but slightly different parasite than the one that causes scabies in people. Either way I wear gloves when handling them.

Caught a reddish/golden one today. Luckily his coat was all in good shape.
