Nice catch Bean and Luke !! I don't have an answer to your question though. Surely some of these beaver trappers do.

Im not a beaver trapper but from what I read a colony can consist of up to 6 so I would keep your traps in for a while. h.h.

I've only been recently doing it (4 years) but I've trapped the same exact slides those 4 years and have caught I think 11 so far and still see plenty of sign and see beavers themselves every evening I actually look for them. It's also a river so not sure if that makes a difference.

Today's catch included this 3-legged model.

He looked real healthy, in spite of the missing wheel wink

Maybe that's why I can't catch em. Where that fourth leg is supposed to be is where my traps are. Haha good catch.

Bean, you're "owning" the beavers. What a life that coyote must have had Stick.

Real nice guys.

Delaney, I thought I'd seen this tripod coyote before, on a trail cam pic. But on re-checking the pic I see it's a different 3-legger, with the LEFT rear leg missing. Curious how they're losing their legs. Shot off possibly, or maybe some kind of infection....hard to say.

yep nice job guys. Gonna get mine back out Saturday. My son will be home Saturday eve from the Army for 2 weeks and he's already told me to have the traps set so he can run them with me. Gonna be a good time I hope.

I stopped by my parents house on the way home from work to visit a minute. Dad asked me if I had my skinning knives with me…..he has caught 8 beavers in the last two days!!! I promptly got up and said, "welp, gotta go get the feeding done before dark"!!! laugh laugh

I must be doing something right. Caught coyote #2 and a real nice red fox this week. Also had my first trap dug up and flipped out of its set.

Yaz... I see reds fairly often. Have had litters raise under my old double corn crib in 2 of the last 4 years. Got a big mangy one running around that I have seen in the barnlot from time to time.

All I know is someone needs new glasses and a lot of ammo to do some practice with. He tried to blame it on everything other than he can shoot. Wind blowing 40 MPH, rain in my eyes, I was moving the truck, you name it and he used it.

Got a coyote and a red fox today, neither trapped. Coyote shot while deer hunting, and sadly I noticed eyes on the shoulder of 41 just outside of Rockville on our way back from dinner. It was a red fox that had been hit and it's back was broken. Got out and put him out of his misery. Was a beautiful animal sad that's the way it was taken, but I wasn't leaving it to suffer. I'll post pics tomorrow.
